As far back as the early 1990's, many of our customers who were in larger single family homes expressed a desire for a smaller, more open floor plan home, yet still with a high degree of luxury and quality materials. We conducted focus groups to gain an understanding of exactly what features were important to this group in a new home. The "Maintenance-Free" aspect of home ownership was very high on the list. Many people expressed a strong opinion that they did not want to spend their time worrying with the outside maintenance of their home. Opposed to moving into an apartment or condominium, they still wanted to own a single-family house on their own lot.

We also traveled the country to tour and review communities, which were very successful in the patio home or villa home concept. From this research, the exciting floor plans and models of the Bel Arbor Builders' portfolio were developed. Our success story continues today, as we continue to build large, luxury homes and now, also specialize in smaller, luxury villa homes from 1800 to 2700 square feet.
